Keiyaku Sensei has been a student of Genpo Roshi since 2006 when after meeting him only one day earlier, she inexplicably asked him to be her teacher. She received Jukai 2007, Shukke Tokudo 2008 and Shiho (Dharma Transmission) Dec 4, 2025. She is also a Big Mind Facilitator.

Kamie lives with her husband in Wisconsin and is retired from a challenging and rewarding career as an Interventional Cardiologist. For many years she shared the Big Mind process and meditation with her patients when it became obvious traditional medicine alone wasn’t enough.  Since retirement she has started a meditation group in Wisconsin for people largely new to sitting/zazen. She also shares Big Mind, koans and Zen with the people of central Wisconsin.
