7-Day Mahayana Sesshin with Genpo Roshi

In Person in Salt Lake City & Live on Zoom

Sunday May 28 - Saturday, June 3, 2023

"Mahayana Buddhism is based on coming from the Apex, embracing both the dual (Hinayana) and the non-dual (Buddhayana) realities with wisdom and compassion, acting appropriately with discernment, including and transcending all opposites.  This is what I mean by coming from the Apex in our everyday life, it is coming from choice rather than victimhood, from trust rather than fear.  From here there is no one to blame. We simply take full responsibility for cause and effect, action and reaction, for life and death. It is not ignoring causation but rather being one with our karma."

-- Genpo Roshi

This sesshin focusing on the Mahayana Zen Path, is a required part of the year-long study of the Mahayana in the Four-Year Four Yana Program (either in-person or via Zoom), and is included as one of the scheduled events in the One-Year Big Mind Zen Program as well

It is also open to all other interested persons, at rates depending on their membership status.

(Registered participants in the Four-Year Four Yana Program and the One-Year Big Mind Zen Program do not have to register or pay extra for this event.  They will automatically receive the link to the Instruction page with Zoom links for the morning and afternoon sessions of the Retreat.)

Location:  The sesshin will be held both online via Zoom and in-person in Salt Lake City at the Wasatch Conference Center of the 'ECC' (the Episcopal Church Center) in the heart of the city, where many Kanzeon/Big Mind events have been held in the past.  Address: 200 East 75 South, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84111.
