Big Heart Retreats are open to the public. No previous Zen experience is necessary. Big Heart Retreats are usually limited to 7 people although exceptions can be made.
Pricing: $8000 per person includes the teaching, 7 nights lodging, and meals. Kanzeon Big Mind Gold and Platinum Members are entitled to one Big Heart Retreat per year that is included in their Membership.
Location: The retreat sessions will take place at Genpo Roshi's home in Waldport Oregon. Waldport is a quaint small town facing the Pacific Ocean midway down the coast. Participants can fly into Portland International Airport (PDX), and then drive down through the Willamette Valley and over the coastal range to Waldport in about 4 hours. Flights are also available into Eugene Oregon which shortens the drive to Waldport to about 2 hours.
Lodging: We have rented a house next door to Genpo Roshi's place that will accommodate 3-5 guests depending on whether they are singles or couples. Lodging is also available at several local hotels, Bed and Breakfasts and Air BnB's. We will work with you to find your best option.
Meals: All meals are included in the basic retreat fee. All participants, whether on site at the retreat house or staying in a nearby hotel will be provided 3 meals a day and snacks as part of the retreat at no extra cost. We have an onsite chef who will take care to accommodate your dietary restrictions and preferences. During the registration process we will discuss your needs in detail.

Saturday July 13: Stay Over and Enjoy the beaches!

Registration: Registration is handled on an individual basis.
