Bring Your Shadow Into The Light
Two-day Workshop with Genpo Roshi
Joined by Kanchi Roshi, Seien Roshi & Jigen Sensei
Saturday & Sunday, March 22 - 23
Join us for a two-day workshop exploring the hidden aspects of ourselves, what Carl Jung called our "shadow" — the parts of our self that direct our thoughts, beliefs, decisions, behaviors, and fears — often without our awareness.
Our shadow contains both so-called negative qualities (like fear, greed, anger, pride and jealousy) and positive ones (like freedom, peace. creativity, spontaneity and strength) that may be underdeveloped or unrecognized, and yet profoundly influence all our experiences and our relationships. So working with your shadow is essential for bringing to light deeply buried aspects of your life both before and after awakening, allowing you free functioning as a human being in this complicated world.
Utilizing the Big Mind Process and 50 years of Zen teaching experience, Genpo Roshi will guide your exploration of:
• The nature of the shadow and its role in your life
• How to recognize and awaken to your shadow
• The impact of shadow projections on your relationships and daily experiences
Roshi will be accompanied by three of his successors who will lead small breakout sessions designed to provide personalized guidance and insight.
Attendance Limited to 25 Participants Maximum
“One weekend working with our shadows can be food to feed us for the rest of our life. It’s that sustaining. This deep shadow work over time, and immediately, both are true, transforms our life. The moment we see our shadow it's already transformed. Then working with seeing the difference between when I was being run by my shadow, and when the shadow is brought to light, that difference is night and day.
