Rohatsu Retreat

Seien Roshi, Shozen Roshi, Jigen Sensei along with Kanchi Roshi invite you to Rohatsu Retreat in Salt Lake City in-person and virtually.

This retreat will be a fundraising event for Kanzeon. We are asking for Dana, our goal is to raise $20,000 to support the Kanzeon organization. Dana is based on your ability to donate and the value you place on receiving the teaching. It is also an expression of our appreciation and gratitude for the many years of teaching by Genpo Roshi. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. 

We will be joined on December 8th (Buddha's Enlightenment Day) by Genpo Roshi live on zoom from the Big Island of Hawaii.

The program includes:

• Sitting, service, and walking meditation 
• Opportunity for private interview (dokusan/daisan) in-person and virtual with teachers
• Buddha's Enlightenment Day Talk with Genpo Roshi

December 4-7

In-person and virtual participants

• 8:00 am - 9:30:  Sitting and Service; optional personal interview with Teacher 
• 9:30 - 10:30:  Breakfast (provided)
• 10:30 - 11:30: Samu (collective work practice)
• 11:30 - 1:00:  Sitting and Service; optional personal interview with Teacher
• 1:00 - 4:00:  Lunch, exercise, rest
• 4:00 - 5:00:  Sitting; optional personal interview with Teacher 
• 5:00:  Dinner break
• 7:30 - 8:30:  Sitting and Four Vows

December 8

In-person and virtual participants

• 9:30 - 10:30:  Breakfast
• 10:30 - 11:30: Samu (collective work practice)
• 11:30 - 12:00: Sitting
• 12:00 – 1:30: Buddha’s Enlightenment Day Zoom Class with Genpo Roshi

Location: William F. Beer Estate, 181 B Street, Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Full time includes daily breakfast. (accommodations, lunches and dinner on your own)

Part-time attendance available.

Open to 20 in-person attendees, unlimited Zoom attendance.
